Nelson Remetz
User Experience Researcher
Hi, and welcome to my portfolio website!
Here you will find examples of my work, ways to get in touch with me, and a quick overview of my professional background.
My expertise is in qualitative UX research methods, specifically in the industries of finance, human resources, and consulting.
Although I am happily employed at Vanguard, I am open to new opportunities, either fully remote, hybrid in the Philadelphia area, or hybrid on the west coast.
Thank you!
Portfolio
Case Study #1 - New Product Discovery
Exploring Emergency Savings As An Employee Benefit
In this case study, I explore user reactions to an entirely new product that Vanguard only now has the opportunity to offer as a result of recent legislation passed by the US Congress.
This discovery project spans across three different personas (HR Professionals, 401k participants, Financial Consultants) and two UX research methodologies (interviews, high volume surveys)
Pension Linked Emergency Savings Accounts (PLESA) could make a real difference in the lives of 401k participants across the country.
Case Study #2 - Moderated User Testing
Usability Testing The Assessment Analytics Dashboard
In this case study, the results from an initial round of prototype testing lead to significant changes across a new product that was built for Executive Search Consultants at my previous employer, Korn Ferry.
This research project employs moderated usability testing, followed by partnership alongside design and development partners, and concluded with a final test to validate understanding and changes.
Though this might seem mundane to the average person, the improvements made for Korn Ferry Consultants provided significant value in their role.
Resume
About Me
Architecture
When I was young, I wanted to be an architect. After two internships and half a bachelors degree, I realized it wasn’t for me.
Finance
After receiving my degree in economics, I pursued finance, and eventually realized that career path also wasn’t for me.
Design
During the pandemic, I returned to my passion for design, completing an UX bootcamp and doing pro-bono design work.
Research
While studying design, I learned about UX research and fell in love with it. I’ve now been specialized in UX research since late 2021.
